Encaustic Transfer Exhibition and reception set for March 5

March 02 2026

AUBURN, Ala. — The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) and Auburn Arts Association invites the public to view the artwork created during artist Zdenko Krtic’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) week-long course exploring the art of encaustic wax transferring. The exhibition will feature works by nine participating artists created during the five-day long workshop. In addition, the exhibition will feature several demo pieces created by the instructor. The exhibit will be viewable by the public from March 3-18, with a reception on Thursday, March 5, from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. in the JDCAC Art Gallery II.

OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, is a community-based education program that offers adults—typically age 50 and older—access to non-credit courses, workshops and social learning opportunities designed to support intellectual curiosity, healthy aging and meaningful connection.
